The U.S. Department of Defense has launched an initiative named “Project Meridian” to study future combat scenarios and technology integration. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that tech leaders Elon Musk and Anduril founder Palmer Luckey will co-lead the project, working alongside academic and policy experts under the direction of the Pentagon’s CTO.
The task force has been given 120 days to deliver actionable solutions for advanced military capabilities, ensuring ongoing dominance in defense technology. Alongside this study, the Pentagon also established an Autonomous Warfare Command to accelerate the deployment of drones and autonomous systems, further bridging traditional defense with Silicon Valley innovation.
