Users can now download the official app and immediately hail one of the company’s fully electric Jaguar I-Pace vehicles, marking another milestone in the autonomous driving sector.
Following an initial limited rollout in February that served around 150,000 riders, the expansion mirrors Waymo’s established playbook used in cities like San Francisco and Phoenix. The scaling effort comes after minor operational hiccups earlier this year involving severe weather conditions, prompting the company to implement real-time safety measures.
While the service is now widely available across the city, trips to Dallas Love Field Airport remain temporarily unavailable as testing continues in that specific zone. Waymo continues to monitor weather patterns closely, retaining the option to pause operations during heavy rain or flood warnings.
