Volkswagen has revealed a new electric prototype vehicle focused on extreme efficiency, successfully completing a nearly 800-mile trip from Germany to Vienna with only a single charge. The car utilizes the motor and battery from the ID. Polo, pushing energy consumption boundaries far beyond current production vehicles.
Achieving this remarkable aerodynamic profile required compromises, including a tapered Kammback roofline, tight rear seating, and the omission of a built-in infotainment system in favor of a portable Bluetooth speaker. While labeled as a near-production concept, Volkswagen has not yet committed to manufacturing a commercial version.
