Health-focused wearable startup Ultrahuman has secured $70 million in a new funding round backed by Qualcomm’s venture arm, bringing the company’s valuation to $365 million. The fresh capital will fuel the brand’s ambition to evolve smart rings from basic sleep and fitness trackers into powerful, standalone computing devices.
By partnering with Qualcomm to integrate specialized silicon, future Ultrahuman rings will be capable of running software and algorithms directly on the device rather than relying constantly on a smartphone or cloud connection. This shift aims to unlock use cases ranging from AI interactions and gesture control to acting as a gaming controller or car key.
Even before the next-generation hardware arrives, the company plans to roll out software updates to its existing Ring Air and Ring Pro models by the end of September. These updates will introduce early AI features, third-party developer access, and alternative control functions, marking a major step toward ambient personal technology.
