Apple has officially released macOS 27 Golden Gate, introducing a major overhaul centered around an upgraded Siri and deeply integrated AI capabilities. The new operating system leverages desktop context to allow the digital assistant to interact with on-screen content, summarize information, and handle productivity tasks previously managed by third-party sidebar apps.
Users can now invoke AI features anywhere using shortcuts to analyze selected screen areas, proofread text, or pull data instantly from files, emails, and messages. Additionally, Spotlight features enhanced search capabilities, and Safari introduces automated tab grouping and smart page tracking for monitoring updates and price drops.
Alongside the AI upgrades, macOS 27 brings visual refinements with the new Liquid Glass design language and improved window consistency. The update is rolling out starting today for supported Apple Silicon Mac models via System Settings.
