Publicly traded e-commerce marketing platform Klaviyo has agreed to acquire Agency, an AI-powered customer success startup founded in 2023. Agency had previously raised $32 million from prominent investors, though the financial terms of the current acquisition remain undisclosed.
As part of the acquisition, Agency founder Elias Torres will join Klaviyo as chief product officer, bringing his 25-person team along. They will focus on accelerating the development of Klaviyo’s AI agents designed for automated marketing campaigns and customer support operations.
This transaction marks a full-circle moment for Torres and Klaviyo CEO Andrew Bialecki, who first worked together fifteen years ago when Torres hired Bialecki as an early engineer. The reunited founders now aim to leverage Klaviyo’s extensive customer data to scale AI agents across hundreds of thousands of businesses.
