Muju Earth has introduced the Aeropod, a fingernail-sized device designed to automatically aerate agricultural soil without the need for traditional machinery or robotics. The capsule is dropped into the ground alongside regular seeds using existing farming equipment, eliminating the need for advance tilling.
Triggered by temperature, pressure, and moisture, the device bursts open to loosen compacted soil and improve root growth at a fraction of the cost of standard plowing. Following lab tests, the startup is launching paid field trials in the UK this fall, aiming to ease a major burden for farmers worldwide.
