Elon Musk’s tunneling venture, The Boring Company, is planning a precursor Hyperloop project to connect Austin and San Antonio in Texas. The proposed transit system aims to cut travel times between the two metropolitan areas to under thirty minutes, acting as an early phase toward high-speed regional transport.
This initiative follows a significant $3 billion funding round for the firm, although skepticism remains high given that several of its past ambitious transit proposals across the United States stalled. At present, the company’s only operational system functions inside Las Vegas.
