Indian audio storytelling platform Pocket FM has doubled its annualized revenue run rate to $500 million, largely driven by the integration of artificial intelligence in content creation. AI now powers 93% of the platform’s catalog and accounts for 99% of its newly produced material.
Company leadership notes that utilizing custom AI models for writing and text-to-speech has reduced production costs by roughly 80 times, compressing what used to take a year into a single day. Despite the heavy automation, human creators remain essential for conceptualizing core storylines and creative ideas.
Building on this momentum, the parent company is expanding its AI-driven model into video microdramas through its new Pocket Saga app and exploring further entertainment formats while maintaining strong overall profitability.
